The place

A brasserie not quite like the others

In Tignes Le Lac, Le Drôle d'Endroit has settled into a place that was never meant to be a restaurant: the former offices of the Direction Départementale de l'Équipement, the local roads authority. From its previous life, the building has kept its volumes, its garage doors, its signage and a few nods to the world of the road.

Today, people come from morning to night. For a coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner or simply the pleasure of getting together. A lively brasserie, open to Tignards and passers-through alike, where everyone can find their place as the day goes by.

A former workplace turned true place of life.

In the morning over coffee and a few pancakes. At midday for lunch. Later on to meet friends or sit down for dinner. At the DDE, the hours go by, the cravings change, but the idea stays the same: having a place you can simply come to, and come back to.

The classics have their charms

Here, the menu plays with the great classics of French brasserie cooking, the kind that reassures as much as it delights. Bœuf bourguignon, blanquette, coquillette gratin… familiar, indulgent and generous recipes, served without trying to complicate them.

And because the day starts well before lunch, the DDE also comes to life in the morning, over pancakes, eggs Benedict and the first cravings of the day.

Where Tignards meet… and everyone else

There are those who live in Tignes all year round, those who come for a few days, those who drop in for a coffee and those who settle in for dinner. Le Drôle d'Endroit was designed as a place where these habits and stories can cross paths.

A lively, easy-going address where you come as much to eat as to meet someone, take a break or simply enjoy the moment. Right down to its PMU betting counter, Le Drôle d'Endroit keeps that bistro spirit where regulars and passers-by always end up crossing paths.

A place for locals, for those passing through, and for everyone who feels like meeting there.

The story

So, why DDE?

Before the tables, the kitchens and the morning coffees, the place housed the resort's technical services. A building everyone had got into the habit of calling, familiarly, “la DDE”. When Maison Bouvier took over the premises in 2025 to imagine this new establishment, it chose to keep the nickname and to play with its former life. Le Drôle d'Endroit was born.

Garage doors, industrial volumes, road signage… some traces have remained, playfully diverted to imagine a completely different place, without erasing what it once was.
