A story of family
and mountains

The story

It all begins with a desire for change

For more than twenty years, Maison Bouvier has been growing in Tignes to the rhythm of a family, its encounters and its desires. Different places have come to life over time, always with the same care for hospitality, for taste and for the moments people share.

After several years in Chambéry, Catherine and Jean-Michel Bouvier long for something else. The mountains are already part of their life, and Tignes, like Val d'Isère, is one of those places they know from time spent there as a family. So when an opportunity arises in Tignes, they seize it.

In 2002, they open the Chalet Bouvier. A first address, then soon another. Over the years, the Maison grows this way, less according to a plan written in advance than through encounters, desires and opportunities.

Hotel, restaurants, high-altitude places, Spa, Épicerie, bakeries… the addresses multiply, each with its own character, without ever losing what connects them: a certain way of welcoming, of sharing and of giving pleasure.

Twenty years on, the story is still being written in Tignes.

The spirit of the Maison

A certain idea of hospitality

Maison Bouvier is not simply a collection of addresses. Behind each of them lies one same way of welcoming: with care, simplicity and generosity. A taste for good things, an eye for detail, the pleasure of sharing and the wish that everyone should feel at home, naturally.

A night at Les Suites, lunch on the slopes, a dinner, a treatment, a drink or a few treats brought back from the Épicerie are all different ways of entering the same world. Because beyond the places themselves, it is above all an experience the Maison seeks to bring to life, and memories it hopes to leave.

The family

A family story that continues to be written

Catherine and Jean-Michel laid the first stones of the Maison. More than twenty years on, they are never far away. Catherine has now stepped back from the day-to-day while keeping an eye on the big decisions. Jean-Michel still likes to call himself the "innkeeper" of Le Panoramic. Many still come up to greet him there, and know they may also cross his path at Les Suites.

Since returning to Tignes in 2016, Clément has gradually taken a central place in the development of the Maison and is now progressively taking over the reins. At his side, Raphaëlle shapes the image of the Maison, from architecture to interior design to its graphic identity. She also guides the new projects and sees them through.

Emma is now present at the Épicerie, while her husband, Hugo Colombo, chef of La Table de Jeanne, also keeps the family story alive through that address.

But the Maison Bouvier family does not stop at blood ties. Colleagues, artisans, producers, partners… so many women and men who take part, each in their own way, in the story of the Maison.

Growing with its land

Growing Maison Bouvier also means continuing to bring life to the land it is deeply attached to. Helping make Tignes a lively destination summer and winter alike, working as much as possible with local suppliers, choosing good produce and respecting what the seasons can truly offer.

Here, no strawberries in December and no avocados at breakfast. Choices that are sometimes simple, but assumed, alongside an ever-greater attention to environmental impact in the decisions the Maison takes.

This commitment also lives through the women and men who work here: keeping teams from one season to the next, building bonds that last and, with the development of establishments open all year round, allowing some to put down deeper roots.
